Not specifying an output path means no output is recorded for the container. This is the normal case for service containers, and not requiring it means you don't have to go through the rigmarole of setting up an empty writable collection mount somewhere just to collect nothing. I'm open to a discussion about whether we should allow this for all container requests, or just ones with "service": true.
